Drawings and Paintings

Painting and drawings have always been an interest for me even before the pottery making started happening, to me drawing is the most basic starting point in any artistical endeavour.  In my mid twenties, I attended Fullerton college and through a series of circumstances and changes, I began attending life drawing classes and pursued my training for about six semesters.  Drawing and painting the human figure for me is always a challenging aspect of art, it is not one that comes easy or effortlessly, however it is an aspect of art that allows me to utilize different mediums.  Standing at the easel with either dry mediums or oil paints and the model infront of me, has been and will continue to be an aspect that is different from the detailed designs of my pottery work.   There is always this special interaction between what happens with the paint, the dry medium and the model, and how it manifests on the canvas or paper.  Sometimes with pleasing results and sometimes with marginal results, but always an interesting artistical experience, hope you enjoy.
